We are recruiting for a Site Caretaker to work on a client location in Belfield.

The successful candidate will be given full training and support.

The hours in the job are as follows:

Monday - Friday @ 8am - 5pm (Wednesdays 7am - 5pm)

Job Role / Overview

- Waste Management

- Keeping site clean

- Fire Alarm Testing once a week

- General upkeep - Gardening, power washing, leaf blowing, power pallet truck.

- Carry out security procedures for school buildings and grounds

- Assisting site manager to direct workmen and contractors to the site of repair and maintenance work. Inspect, monitor and record work performance.

- Notify the Site Manager of the necessity for any repairs or maintenance.

- Carry out non-specialist building maintenance work, eg changing light bulbs.

- To read meters and record as required, including assistance with energy conservation procedures (switching off lights).

- Clean outside hard areas eg, paths and entrances, collect all litter, empty and collect litter from outside bins and convey to nominated collection or disposal point. Clean gullies and drains at surface level.

- Take out of use caretaking and cleaning equipment is known to be faulty and report the need for repair.

- Remove all refuse internally collected from within the site and convey it to a nominated collection point for collection by the refuse contractor.

- Accept deliveries of stores, materials and other goods and convey to appropriate storage areas. (Maintain adequate supplies of caretaking requirements and cleaning materials and keep records).

You will be required to:

  • Carry out any / all cleaning duties as requested/by your supervisor/management
  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in a professional manner, following all “safe systems of work” & risk assessment directions
  • Wear the correct and appropriate PPE specified at all times
  • Comply with all statutory Health & Safety Rules and Regulations
  • Comply with all health & safety regulations for cleaning materials, equipment, and buildings.
  • Provide high personal standards of work/performance, personal hygiene, and appearance.
  • Wear any items of personal protective equipment, as specified by the cleaning supervisor/manager
  • Report all faults in relation to cleaning machinery/equipment to the supervisor/management team
  • Report all building defects to the supervisor/management team
  • Carry out any reasonable request, as specified by the supervisor/management team to attend all company meetings and training as requested.

Skills/ Experience:

  • Applicants should be well presented, trustworthy, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team. Must have the ability to manage time effectively, show initiative, and the ability to work without supervision.
  • Good communication skills
  • The commercial Cleaning experience is an advantage.
  • Candidate must be fluent in English speaking
  • Willing to be Garda Vetted
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
